How do you capture the future
when history repeats itself
the rise and fall
the good and bad
yet we survive
and seemly live on
some seek continued prosperity
while others suffer loss
and in an effort to conscience
a contribution to the cross.
What we know now
is not our present loss
but the hope for tomorrow
to reframe the burden and the cost.
There is hope for tomorrow
if the will we seek to claim
for yesterday was our lesson
tomorrow is ours to erase the shame.

About the Poem
What we know now should not just go into the memory banks of thoughts, ideas, expressions or shared conversation. What we know now is there for us to evict the pass, position ourselves for the present and what this piece calls Recapture the Future. Knowledge is the opportunity to express the present to inspire action in the future.

This piece of writing ✍️ made me reflect on whether I acknowledge dark events from the past and how I learn from past experiences. Your piece has reaffirmed my resolve to acknowledge the past openly and apply what I continually learn in my future actions.
I enjoyed the poem.
Thank you for sharing that Amy.
