Over the rainbow
under the sea
the glitter of light
the radiance so free
to the open spaces
the birds and trees
running streams
as far the eyes can see.

Along the cliffs
out stretched wings
span the eagle
crossing the scene
below the surface
my eyes to behold
are the reflections
of a journey untold.

Set me free
help me see
that all round
duplicates me
for without this
I’m just a mist
unless you rest
and set me free.

About this Poem
Man’s efforts to tame the wild, in an attempt to incarcerate it, is seen as an advancement.  Yet nature continues to do what it does best, protect us and balance the circle of life. Who then needs to be set free?
