Having the right words to say
or doing the right things our way
Yes you are right.
We all want to be right,
Yet at the heart of it all,
it is lacking the key ingredient
So I guess you are right.
Standing in insecurity
My right strapped with sarcasm
Without a care for the other
It is my words that matter.
Backed by pious belief
Equipped to the law and deceived
Lost to compassion and grace
Right is what it is we see.
For no matter how right we might be,
and the right we stand fighting to see,
when all that we care to be
is right, that is not right at all?
For at the soul,
there is the cry to be whole
Not to be right
but looking in for the light
And seeing the path
That one thing that overlooks right
For it is always right
He that loves LOVE rather than right.
Is Right. Right?

Motivation for this Poem
We all want to be right about what we say. That effort has stirred up strife, created divisions and destroyed lives. This piece is not about the authors intent to be right but the desire to love. It is easy to be right for it is what we perceive and believe. To Love is yet greater. The challenge is to align all that we say and do against love.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
1 Corinthians 13:1
