Life, we’ve been living
Routine, schedules, habits, patterns
Some paths smooth, others rocky
Celebrations continue
Living it up, giving little thought of tomorrow
Then it came
Isolation, Quarantine, Lockdown
The cries are deafening
Yet still there is rejoicing
In the midst of crisis there is always a call
Calling to choose
You who have an ear to hear, do what you must
Follow the voice that leads to a place
Not one that’s hopeless
Not one filled with pain
Rather a place of peace in the storm
A place of joy in the storm
That place of hope in the storm
Hopeless?
Not!

About this Poem
The following piece was written by my younger sister. As we reflect on this time in history, there is a struggle happening. This piece reminds me that hopeless has no place at all. I read this piece from the top down and then from the bottom up. Life we’ve been living … Hopeless? Not! and Not! Hopeless?… Life we’ve been living.
